I am thrilled to share the exciting news of the launch of my new limited edition collection of Christian jewellery at the Irish Linen Centre in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. This collection, specially commissioned by the Visitor Centre, features unique pieces incorporating Irish linen elements and is now available in their bustling gift shop.
I have always tried to design jewellery that tells a story. During the pandemic that story became a journey towards bringing hope and positivity into everyday life. I wanted each piece to be encouraging and uplifting for both the wearer and those around them. Wearable Truth blends materials including crystal, metal and wood and showcases traditional typed lettering from a vintage typewriter.
My new collection, now available at the Lisburn Linen Centre, was specially commissioned by the Visitor Centre with the aim of linking the timeless messages spelled out on each piece with the rich heritage of the local linen industry. Messages like âWelcome Home,â âMay the road rise up to meet you,â and âHome is where the heart is.â are designed to be daily reminders of hope and positivity, reflecting the spirit of Wearable Truth.
As a native of Lisburn, I spent many afternoons on Bow Street and can actually remember the stir around the opening of the Irish Linen Centre in 1994. With its rich history and cultural significance, the Centre is the perfect setting to introduce this collection. I hope it resonates with visitors who appreciate the historic significance of our local linen industry and the importance of artisan craftsmanship.Â
