What an incredible evening we had on Thursday 19 June, as we officially launched the brand-new illustrated map of Dromore's thriving food and retail sector; a celebration of our town's fantastic independent businesses, from long-standing favourites to exciting new ventures. We want to encourage everyone to shop, eat, and meet friends right here in our wonderful town.
A Night to Remember
We were thrilled to have Radio Ulster’s very own Cate Conway host the evening, bringing her fantastic energy and charm. The night kicked off with a special preview for all the local traders who contributed to the map's design, giving them a first look at this beautiful creation. Soon after, the doors opened to the wider public, and it was wonderful to see so many faces come out to support local.
The town square was filled with the delightful sounds of live music from the talented Amanda Fawn, creating the perfect backdrop for conversation and connection. And of course, no Dromore event would be complete without amazing food and drink! Our local coffee shops and restaurants generously supplied an array of delicious refreshments, truly showcasing the incredible culinary talent we have right on our doorstep.
We were also honoured to hear remarks from Deputy Lord Mayor Jessica Johnston and the Chair of the Economic Development and Regeneration Committee, who both underscored the importance of supporting our local economy and community.
More Than Just a Map
This isn't just a map; it's a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit. Designed by the incredibly talented local artist Beth Snelling, it's a vibrant, engaging guide that makes exploring Dromore's unique offerings a real adventure.
For me, seeing this map come to life fills me with immense pride. It’s a fantastic tool to highlight the diverse businesses that make Dromore so special and it embodies our collective effort to build a stronger, more connected town.
So, grab your copy of the new illustrated map and start exploring! Let's continue to support our local businesses and make Dromore the ultimate destination for shopping, dining, and connecting with friends.
