New York, New York, it's a wonderful town: Melanie Bond Jewellery hits NYFW

New York, New York, it's a wonderful town: Melanie Bond Jewellery hits NYFW

Taking my jewellery brand across the Atlantic for New York Fashion Week with Flying Solo has been nothing short of a dream. Stepping out onto the runway venue at Summit One, Vanderbilt Building in Manhattan, with the iconic New York skyline towering above us, made every late-night design session completely worth it.

Showcasing the "Heirloom" Collection

For this unforgettable runway debut, I brought our brand-new Heirloom Collection. Designed to bridge statement drama with delicate, handcrafted artistry, these pieces were made to capture light and turn heads:

  • The Iridescent Cascading Neck Piece: A show-stopping centerpiece featuring hand-wired Aurora Borealis glass crystals and shimmering iridescent foil drops.

  • Chunky Agate Drop Earrings: Asymmetric drops blending bold semi-precious agate stones in rich green, pink, and gold tones.

  • Hand-wired Ceramic Flower Rings: One-of-a-kind statement cocktail rings adding textured elegance to the runway looks.

Seeing models walk the Flying Solo showcase adorned in these hand-wired creations was an electric experience. Flying Solo provides an incredible global stage for independent designers, and sharing a room with so much international creative talent was truly inspiring.

Beyond the Runway

Outside the high energy of backstage hair and makeup, NYC was pure magic. Between show prep and media features, I made sure to take in the city’s energy—savoring morning coffees on busy street corners and soaking in the skyline views that inspired so much of this season's sparkle.

To everyone who followed along on Instagram, shared our posts, and supported this journey from home: thank you! Bringing Northern Ireland design to one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world is a milestone I’ll never forget.

The Heirloom Collection is now available to explore directly at melaniebond.co.uk.
