Cloud Dancer 2026 - Add a Splash of Colour with Melanie Bond

What do Very Peri, Peach Fuzz and Tangerine Tango all have in common?

They have all been named Pantone Colour of the Year at some point in the concept’s twenty-five year history.

Pantone has been the (albeit self-proclaimed) world authority on colour since the company launched its Pantone Matching System in the 1960s. Without getting too bogged down in the science (Remember chromatography in GCSE Chemistry? Me neither!), the PMS allows brands like Melanie Bond to make sure that their brand colours match across all publications, packaging and platforms - because not just any yellow will do.

The selection of Colour of the Year may seem a bizarre and arcane project, but is a fun way of capturing the zeitgeist of a particular moment, inspired by and inspiring designers in fashion, interiors, the creative arts and beyond.

The selection of Cloud Dancer for 2026 is “A conscious statement of simplification… Cloud Dancer enhances our focus, providing release from the distraction of external influences.” Or at least so says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute.

Read more here about how companies like Joybird, Motorola and Play-Doh have teamed up with Pantone to explore new looks for the new year.

For Melanie Bond, it’s a great way to start thinking about what might be on trend this year. And the wonderful thing about this year’s colour is its flexibility. All of our customers know that we are all about colour, so this is a great opportunity to throw a splash of pink on the canvas with a new scarf, embrace a classic blue jean, or have a piece of bespoke jewellery made to complete your look.

How will you dance in 2026?
